Freshness Map
Where sink odor tends to hide
A calm, illustrative reference for the zones most associated with sink freshness. This is general guidance only — it does not detect, measure, or eliminate hazards, and makes no health or medical claims.
Diagram is a stylized illustration, not a measurement of any specific sink.
Strainer basket
Trapped food near the drain opening is the most common freshness issue. Empty and rinse it often.
Drain flange & gasket
Residue collects under the rubber gasket where the basket seats. Wipe the visible rim.
Basin corners
Tight corners hold film when wipe-downs are skipped. A quick weekly wipe keeps them clear.
Overflow & backsplash
Splash marks above the basin are cosmetic but read as not fresh. Wipe after heavy use.
Faucet base
Water can pool where the faucet meets the counter. Dry-buff to limit spots.
Standing water line
A ring can form where water sits between uses. Drying the basin helps the most.
